Mask Making for Introspection & Self Care Materials will be provided Registered Art Therapist Facilitator: Charmaine Husum This workshop focuses on building internal strengths through self-reflection and creative expression. Using the tools of Art Therapy and Somatic mindfulness approaches, you are invited to explore what you show to the world and what you hold within- working towards feeling an internal sense of empowerment through the process. This workshop is intended to support an exploration and awareness of relating to the Self with love and acceptance while promoting mental wellness. Using a trauma-informed approach participants will be gently guided and can  WHAT IS ART THERAPY?:Art Therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional  resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight. It encourages people to express and understand emotions through artistic expression and the creative process. Where regular talk therapy focuses on thoughts in the mind, Somatic Therapy creates a curiosity of how thoughts, feelings and sensations are experienced within the body. As we engage with art materials in this somatic way, we are bringing conscious awareness to ourselves that supports lasting healing which originates from within.
